Grad Highlight: Bowen [By Craig]

Bowen joined the Rockside program all the way from Tobaccoville, North Carolina. While at the ranch, Bowen played a critical role in building over a mile of new fencing with his welding skills, while teaching welding to fellow students along the way. He was an invaluable team member who helped problem solve the many day-to-day challenges of farming.

During Bowen’s time in Etna he and another student, Mason, became good friends and signed up to compete at our local rodeo. Rockside staff and friends cheered them on and were ecstatic when they took 2nd place in the “Saddle Cow” event, earning them a coveted spot to compete again at the county fair.

After graduation, Bowen moved back to North Carolina to work on his family’s farm and in October Mason also moved to North Carolina to be housemates with Bowen. Seeing friendships develop at the ranch that continue after graduation brings us great joy. We’re so proud of their hard work and progress!
